JustAsk Volunteer Service

Approximately 270,000 children are treated in hospital each year. Parents often travel long distances to hospital with their sick children, perhaps exhausted from a long journey, coping with an unfamiliar environment and away from the support of family. That is why they greatly appreciate the warm welcome and helping hand of the volunteers at the CHI JustAsk desk.

Assistance from the JustAsk volunteers includes:

• Offering a friendly helping hand to parents and visitors
• Providing information on the hospital and the local area
• Providing information on CHI services and publications
• Providing information and contact details of chronic illness groups
• Offering materials to occupy children waiting in OPD and A&E
