Building & maintaining resilience when working with children in hospital
Children in Hospital Ireland hosted their Annual Lecture 2018 on Monday 12th March at the TCD School of Nursing & Midwifery
Consultant Psychologist and author of True Tales of Organsiational Life (2016), Barbara Wren was the guest speaker and delivered an engaging and stimulating talk to a packed house. The attendees included medical staff, medical students, parents, volunteers & voluntary organisations working with children and others in supporting this area of work.
Following a lively discussion the event was rounded up with an input by Eilish Hardiman, CEO of the Children’s Hospital Group.
Anna Gunning CEO of Children in Hospital Ireland, together with Dr. Maria Brenner agreed that “tonight’s lecture was thought provoking for all those involved in working with children in hospital. We hope that this presentation will start a debate and influence on-going dialogue on the topic of resilience in all paediatric settings – particularly in the development of the New Children’s Hospital”.
